What you should know about the mortgage

  • The bank pays the notary, the land registry, the administration and the mortgage tax. You pay the valuation and, if there is one, the arrangement fee.
  • At least 10 days before signing you receive the binding offer and visit the notary free of charge so they can explain it to you.
  • As a guide, the payment should not exceed 30-35% of your net income.
  • They cannot force you to take out insurance with the bank, although they can lower your interest rate if you do.
